WebcomicsFriendly Hostility - About Fox and Collin who are roommates and a couple. Their lives are very odd and include a servant won in a poker game, plans for world domination, a demon who like healthy food, a very odd family, and a lot more. It has some exceptionally well done dialog, but the art could use a lot of work.
GunnerKrigg Court - a coming of age story that follows Annie and her friend Kat exploring their mysterious and odd school. It has immensely charming writing and wonderful art.
Octopus Pie - This is about Eve and Hanna living in Brooklyn. Eve is stressed about life and tried to figure out her life, Hanna and her boyfriend run a special bakery. The characters are quirky and entertaining. It's one of the few comics that knows how to use grayscale
Fortunes Fools - A funny comic about medieval France with a colorful cast of characters and wonderful art. Now if only if would start updating regularly.
Girly - Girly is about two girls in love having adventures. To be honest I'm not a big fan of the writing. It has moments where it shines and have a fun one liner or scene, but I'm really looking at this comic because of how fun and lively it is.
Penny Arcade - Most of you probably all know Penny Arcade. It's one of the two gaming comics that doesn't use bland over done jokes, randomly cuts to uninteresting stories about the flat characters, make sexist jokes, and doesn't make lame excuses about not updating. They are top notch as far as gaming comics go.
Sinfest - Daily strip done newpaper style. It's got some good art and makes me laugh.
Planet Saturday - A cute comic filled with short stories about life and growing up and kids.
Bayou - This is about a black girl growing up in the south pre-WW2. There is a bit of fantasy mixed in when dealing with the bayou near her house. Unfortunately, this wonderful comic requires a flash player to read it. But if you can it's well worth it.
KukuBuri - Absolutely beautiful comic that has sort of an Alice in Wonderland feel.
Dark Horse Presents - Some of you might not count this since it is run by a print comicbook company, but I've been loving it. There are 4 short stories posted every month and so far there is at least one story a month that I've loved. They have some wonderfully neat things going on.
Family Man - A beautiful werewolf comic that is amazing well referenced and a great read.
Bite Me - Vampire during the french revolution which is hilarious and a completed story.
Dice Box - Lovely comic with breath taking art and some interesting storylines about two women traveling around in a world very different from ours
Nobody Scores - This is just the funniest comic I have ever read |
Print ComicsSandman follows the Endless Dream as he cares for the Dreaming Realm. It includes stories dealing with Shakespeare, mythology, and the real world.
Endless Nights is a bunch of short stories about each of the Endless from Sandman.
Little Endless Storybook is a short adorable story about how the Endless Delirium is missing.
Lucifier is a spin off of Sandman about you guessed it the devil. He quit being the ruler of hell and now runs a bar. He still however has to deal with various demons and heaven.
The Last Temptation is a graphic novel Alice Copper is the devil and tries to convince a boy Steven to just his show in exchange for his soul
Creatures of the Night is two short supernatural stories with some beautiful art. One story is about a strange cat who guards a family from the devil and the other is about a girl who turns into an owl.
Watchmen is a deconstruction of superhero comics which basically asks the reader "who watches the watchmen" and makes sure superheros are doing the right thing.
Scott Pilgrim is about Scott Pilgrim who in order to date the girl he loves must defeat her legion of evil ex-boyfriends
Hellboy and BPRD follow the Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense fighting the forces of darkness.
Embalmer is a weird manga that starts with a few short stories about people dying and the main character has make them look nice for their funeral as they slowly reveal more about him and his life.
Tales of Vampires and Tales of Slayers are both a collection of short stories that take place in the Buffy universe.
Buffy Season 8 is obviously a continuation of Buffy
Fray is the Buffy universe in the far far future. The watcher council has gone crazy and is useless, so a demon takes it upon himself to train the new slayer to fight a common enemy.
Dark Horse Book of Monsters is a collection of short stories about monsters. Each have different writers and artist. My favorite especially is a story about a group of dogs who adopted a werewolf. |
